What Are Common Core Standards?
The Common Core Standards are what our children should learn in each grade to become college ready by the time they graduate from high school. The standards provide teachers and parents with a common understanding of what students are expected to learn every step of the way.
This initiative is important, because although education is driven by each state, children will have the opportunity to be taught a common base of knowledge nationally. Currently, 48 states are part of this initiative.
